CIP Day (Oil Collection)

So it was our school's CIP day. Alright, at first I thought it'd be fun, because I thought we'd be collecting newspapers and just moving them around the block.

It turns out that it wasn't newspaper collecting.

It was OIL COLLECTION. Used oil. Yeah, we're supposed to collect used oil to recycle. It's a little useless though... All we did was just ~~go around the whole block asking for oil~~ slack. Kidding, we just got our tasks done quickly, so we got to sit around the void deck with the teachers.

So thinkfimb decided to have lunch together, once again, at Sumo House!

Sorry for being MISSING IN ACTION for the past few weeks. I'm flying to Vietnam tomorrow! Finally in for some vacation. Been quite busy, AND LAZY as well, so... I'll attempt to blog after I'm back from the trip! Will take loads of photos, take care all of you crazy nuts.

A trip to Ai Tong Primary School

So on July the 2nd, Me, Fimberly, Sze Li, Elyeannie, Vaishu, Junjie, Dang Khoa, Kae Wen, Shi Hao, Hillary, Jia Ying, Hui Yi, and I think a few prefects went to Ai Tong Primary School to participate in this fair, where all their students get to see what the Secondary schools have for them, and take them into consideration.

Few of us, the band members went there to perform, but it was in the middle of nowhere. The dancers performed with us too! We got attention, as well as ignorance, but we had a fun time together. THE BEST THING IS: WE GET TO SKIP SCHOOL!

Finally I'm blogging. After 4 months I'm still stuck at June Holiday posts! Okok, I'll finish it tonight I promise!

So obviously friends go out during the holidays right?

This time I went out with Fimberly and Sze Li. Had a hard time deciding where we should dine at, googled and googled, until everyone agreed on...

ROMA'S DELI

Guess ya'll should've realised that it's Vegetarian!

Alright, I know some of you got this 'food that are made up of veggies suck' thought in your mind, but you carnivores better trust me, that dining at Roma's Deli would give you a brand new impression of Vegetarian food. Frankly speaking, at first I thought that vegetarian food will taste nothing like normal food, until I came to this place.

Well, enough elaboration on the place itself. So we took a bus ride there, with an empty stomach.

I was pretty surprised when I reached there, because the place was packed, and it was a small cute restaurant. Everyone was squeezing, from there, I told myself "They must sell good food. I'll see."

It really didn't seem as if we ate Vegetarian food, it tasted like Italian food, with just the right taste, and, guess what? It totally wasn't veggie-ish at all!

Family Outing

Aww you know how I love family outings right?!
This was before Fathers' day.

So on one fine Friday, my parents took us out! So we had breakfast at Hans.

I remember it was the FIFA World Cup season and we were watching the re-run over there at Hans.

Went to visit my grandmother at her house, and then Daddy drove us to East Coast! Rented bikes and cycled together, then went for lunch.

Band Holidaze

Ok, finally putting in some effort to blog. Haha, lazy me.

First 2 weeks of my holidays was of course, packed, with CCA. I admit it's a hectic schedule, but nevertheless, it's better than rotting at home. Plus, I get to meet my dear friends, at the same time, have fun! Honestly, attending band has a greater advantage than staying at home sleeping in till 12.

First week was filled with practices, and basically, conference(on msn) and meetings at j8!

Been a little busy lately, and didn't take photos, so... Here's all I've got!

Howdy ho everyone!

Haven't been in contact with my primary school friends lately, so me and Vanna decided to catch up on each other one day. We decided to go to Jiawen's house to make Chinese dumplings together!

So last Saturday, we met up with each other and had a long talk on they way to JiaWen's house. It's really nice when you haven't met someone for so long but you are still able to blabber about all sorts of stuffs to her.

Reached Jiawen's house and first thing I saw was...

Believe it or not, that was the best shot I've got. Gracie doesn't like to take photos, according to Jiawen.

So while Jiawen's mother was preparing all the stuffs to make the dumplings and everything, Vanna taught Jiawen similarity and congruency, which Jiawen obviously doesn't like.

"The shapes are already like that what! Why still need to prove or explain? So stupid la!"

I thought what she said was rather true... But that's EMath, nothing's gonna change even if we procrastinate!

She can't take it anymore. She does not like Similarity and Congruency.

Or maybe not.

Me, analysing the question but ended up throwing the paper aside.

Finally caught up with all the posts and stuffs! Sorry for delaying!

So last Thursday me, Kimberly, Jacelyn and Sze Li went out together!

Dress code: Dresses/Jumpers

Exams ended on Wednesday for me and Jacelyn, so it was a holiday for us on Thursday!

Met up with Jacelyn first and we went Bugis to return her stuffs. The MRT was super packed. Next time if there's space in the MRT, please move in and don't keep people stuck to the door. Those people who don't move should really get a taste of what it's like having your ass touch someone else's ass.

Went to The Cathay at Dhoby Ghaut after that. Met Sze Li and Kimberly, then we bought our movie tickets for... guess which movie?

Mothers' Day was on the 9th of May, but I celebrated with Mummy on 7th of May, which was on my Social Studies and EMath examination day.

Went to Orchard to meet Mummy, cos of my friggin' knee (if you've read about it on my twitter). She treated me to Sakae Sushi! It was super early, so the place was literally empty.

GYSS Commendation Day 2010

So it's back again! The school's commendation day.

It's on the 16th of April if I'm not wrong. Of course, every year's commendation day would be memorable, because of the different themes, different performances etc.

This year's theme was multi-racial. The school hall was decorated with flags and stuff, and teachers wore ethnic costumes.

It started a little late. So me and Fimb had time for some photo taking in class!

Taiwanese fast food

Howdy! I've been blogging everyday to catch up with the latest activities! I'M TRYING!

You know how often I go out with my family right? Well, here's a post on it. But this time, it's a little different.

One fine Sunday, my family and I decided to out together. They had some property business to settle first, so we kids followed them. Waited like so long for them to finish their ~~monkey~~ business.

Let's start of with 2 of my bro's photos.

After they finished their stuff, we FINALLY head down to IMM to have lunch!

I didn't take a photo of the food eaten, because, obviously I was busy eating. Basically it's just typical taiwanese food. Though it's a little pricey, but the food was still alright. Just that there were speakers that ruined the atmosphere.

Nothing more to say! That's all we've done on that day.

Craving for Ice cream?

Me and Fimb craved for Ice cream awhile ago in March. The only famous Ice Cream shops I've heard of are probably Ben&Jerry and Haagen Dazs.

Fimb recommended the Ice-cream at U.d.d.e.r.s to me, have you guys heard of it before?

So one fine day, Fimb decided to take me to an outlet near United Square, beside Starbucks.

Does Coffee cheers you up?

Answer for me is: YES!

Have been drinking Frappes and all at Coffee Bean, because me and Fimb hardly have time to have lunch, so we thought we'd just go for some Coffee. And yes, I think Coffee absolutely brightens up my day! Though I can't really say that for Fimb.

We have it like once in 2 weeks. You know, like just chill out, and catch up with each other, since we aren't sitting next to each other in class already!

Coffee really gives you energy, though it doesn't really work on me, but it's refreshing. Just note that it's not healthy to drink it everyday! Only 1 cup per day, it's best if you cut down on the intake.

Back to Coffee Bean, since that's the only Cafe, I know at j8, which is near my school, me and Fimb will just sit there and talk over a cup of coffee. Sometimes you just need to relax a little bit and slow down...

The cakes and coffee are really superb at Coffee Bean, the mudpies and brownies, cheesecake etc. It's all very worth! If you're not a fan of coffee, obviously they have the 'and Tea Leaves' there!

March Holidays!

I know I know, it's already May.

Understand that most of you (including me) complained that the one week holiday wasn't enough, or rather, you had supplementary classes despite the fact that it's a holiday.

Come to think of it, it wasn't such a bad holiday either. It's quite predictable that everyone will just procrastinate about the fact that the March Holidays are SHORT. But when the holidays are LONG, everyone will start complaining that it's BORING. It's somehow ridiculous, but we don't seem to notice that though!

Alright, shall cut the crap.

I started my March holidays with PHYSICS. Well luckily, it wasn't some boring o' supplementary lesson.

We had a 'Pet Rocket course'. Basically it's just a course where they teach you how to make a rocket (out of 1.5 litres bottle/tapes etc.), which obviously requires their own launcher or something to launch it, and then educate you on the Newton's law and blah.

Did it in pairs, and look what me and Fimb made!

Didn't get the chance to take the launching of rockets. This is roughly how it was like...

The rockets flew everywhere. Those with the perfect aiming gets a chance to participate in a Pet Rocket competition. Launching the rockets got us wet, and for some, EXTREMELY WET.

Had a short talk about the purpose of this experiment and stuffs (Newton's law blah blah...) and then finally we got dismissed.

Went to Cafe Cartel to have brunch with Fimb.

We looked like assholes who've never been to Cafe Cartel.

One of the reasons why I like Cafe Cartel. NOT BECAUSE THE BREAD IS FREE FLOW.

But it's because the bread is TASTY. (I admit it's also because it's free flow)

So other than that, I also celebrated my Grandmother's 78th Birthday!

Went to the Imperial Herbal Restaurant at Vivo City. I admit when I first heard this restaurant, I was like "Herbs?!" My mind was all "Are we gonna have food cooked with Ginseng?"

Haha, but guess what? THE FOOD THERE WAS AWESOME.

Oh this was really good! Fluffy Egg White with Dried Scallop, and a little crispy yam or something like a bird nest.

Don't like Walnut cream in the first place, but it wasn't very awful.

After the satisfying meal we went Daiso for a little while, then everyone went separate ways.

I WENT SENTOSA WITH MY FAMILY AGAIN!

Here's what happened. We drove into Sentosa, paying $7. Being new to the new routes and everything, we got lost and got out of Sentosa in like 10mins. So we decided to turn back and try our luck of getting in without paying $7 again, and fortunately, the girl who told us to pay $7 recognised us and let us in.

Obviously my parents would be more interested in the casino, so we went to check it out first.

Since my family members haven't seen the Universal Studios, we went there!

I know it's tremendously LATE to be posting this now, but, better late then nothing!

So I went on an outing with my section on 14 March, to bond with each other, and have fun, of course.

Met Lynette early in the morning at Bishan MRT station, then we went NTUC to get some snacks and stuff. Waited for everybody to arrive, then we set off together to HabourFront MRT station.

Chinese New Year Celebration with the Band

Every year it's the same, but because the number of members increased, we had 4 YU SHENG this year. This time we celebrate in houses. GYSB. And there was a cake for the February babies too! It's Mango flavoured! There were Chinese new year snacks and goodies too, guess everyone had a great time.

Edwin's birthday

So the clarinet section decided to help Edwin celebrate his birthday! On a Wednesday, we bought a cake from Prima Deli, and Edwin was blind folded by Jasmine and led into the band room. And because some of them couldn't make it on time, and Edwin had to go for detention or something, we just made him blow the candles and eat the cake :D

CIP at Geylang East Home for the Elderly

A few weeks back 3E1 went Geylang East Home for the Elderly to do CIP. We were supposed to play with them and entertain them (:

When we reached, the person in charged just told us what to do, and we had to come up with a performance on the spot! And my group members are:

Kimberly, Ren Wen, Jocelyn, Sylvia and Charissa!

We decided to do the Chicken dance (: Thought it would be fun.

Needless to say, the atmosphere was a little cold when everyone performed, but it got better as they learned the actions.

It was game time after that, and our group chose Bingo! It was quite fun, though we had a hard time communicating with them in dialects. They were very friendly! After playing we left the place.

Celebration with Fimb (because it's HOLIDAY!)

Guess all of you, like us, went to have a good time on the last day of school before the March Holidays starts!

So me and Fimb were super excited for the March Holidays to come, but due to too much excitement, we decided to go out on the last day of school, which is on a Friday! We planned and planned... Guess where we decided to go?

We considered those places... but... the final decision was...

JURONG POINT

I know it's far far far far far far far from my place, which is at AMK, and Fimb's place, which is at Lorong Chuan. BUT! We wanted to go somewhere that was far away! So we can experience long MRT rides! At the same time, BOND.

As expected, we were rushing like mad dogs, but we managed to get there in time. (???)

TO WATCH ALICE IN WONDERLAND!

Like normal girls, we took pictures.

Ok, I know I look funny.

We had a hard time looking for the cinema because we weren't familiar with the place! With no other alternatives, we decided to ask around, and we got there in less than 5 mins! Bought tickets then settled down.

The movie was great!

4 out of 5 stars!

I don't really remember the story, because I read the story at a young age. So.. this explains my fascination by the characters! Check them out!

Alright, back to my day...

After the movie, we wanted to have dinner at Fig&Olive but it wasn't open. So... we went Billy Bombers! We decided to indulge ourselves with good food because we saved up for this day! (and we didn't eat anything except popcorns for the whole day!) We went in and got a good seat, and start snapping photos again!

Fimb's Fish'N'Chips

I'm drooling in front of my computer.

The food was absolutely TASTY! And I love the fries because it's not very oily! But it's in super extra big portion, so make sure you go with a very very very empty stomach, LIKE US! We didn't finish the fries though, cos' we were really bloated like hot air balloons.

Left the place at around 7. Took an MRT back with Fimb, and we enjoyed the long MRT trip again, though this time there were much more people squeezing with us.
